Vintage 1970s Danish teak Apollo chair with matching ottoman by Skipper Mobler. The armchair achieves a serious amount of comfort with it’s hammock-like canvas sling design. The beige leather clad seat cushions are designed almost like a catcher’s mitt, resting in the sling. The sling/cushion combo cradles the body like a ball in a glove. The Danes are known for their masterful, clever design. It’s not just about the looks. The bentwood frame creates suspension, giving the chair some bounce. This is another nod to comfort. This chair comes complete with the ottoman pictured. Both the chair and ottoman are in outstanding original condition with only very scant evidence of wear. The Skipper Mobler label is present beneath the ottoman. The Apollo chair and ottoman were designed by Svend Skipper for Skipper Mobler.
