Furnish Me Vintage will help guide you on your freight options to make sure you are using a shipping method that is best for your situation in consideration of your time, size of the item, cost, and safety of travel. Curbside freight maybe appropriate for some situations while others are best suited for white glove delivery. Call us if you have questions about our shipping methods727.898.8740.
White glove freight: Estimated transit time 2-6 weeks. Movers will carry the parcel indoors, unpack, and put the item in place. We recommend this shipping method for those who may have difficulty moving furniture on their own. White glove freight is also recommended for certain large, heavy or items requiring extra care in handling.
Curbside freight: Estimated transit time is 7-21 business days. The item is professionally packed and crated and delivered to the home, but NOT INSIDE. The crate is delivered on a large truck and delivered to the address, at the curb or loading dock if it is a business with an accessible dock. The driver may or may not help you unload the item from the truck. The recipient (you) are responsible for bringing the crate into the home. The recipient is also responsible for unpacking the crate and disposing of the packing material which may include a shipping palette and plywood. Curbside freight is often used for customers working on a deadline who need their shipments as fast as possible. Curbside freight is often cheaper than white glove freight. Our customers in single family homes or businesses often choose curbside for the faster, lower cost delivery. However, we do not recommend curbside freight for folks living in apartments, condos or densely populated cities since it may be difficult to receive a crate to their building. Disposing of the crating material may also be cumbersome for folks living in apartments, condos or densely populated cities. Remember to plan accordingly if you are receiving a curbside freight shipment. You may need a friend or two to help you move and unpack the crate.
Inspect your shipment at the time of arrival. Look for visible signs of damage on the exterior of the package. Photograph any external damage BEFORE opening the package. Open up the crate at the time of delivery to make sure the item(s) are intact inside. It is important that you inspect for damage at the time of delivery and not later. Reporting damage after delivery may endanger your ability to achieve a favorable insurance claim. Freight deliveries: Notify the driver(s) of damage and make note of damage on the bill of lading paper work before signing and accepting the shipment. Parcels must be accepted in order to start the insurance claim process. Do not refuse shipments. If shipment is refused buyer is responsible for original AND return shipping fees. Initiate your damage claim within 24-48 hours of receiving the parcel. Contact the carrier directly to report the claim. If you have questions, contact us, we will guide you through the process. It is absolutely imperative that you follow all instructions specified by the shipping carrier and/or insurance carrier. Keep all original packing material AND merchandise. Do not dispose of the packing material or merchandise until your claim in settled. Submit all necessary documents and photos required. Do this in a timely manner. The sooner you get your documentation in, the faster your claim is processed and settled. Call or e-mail us if you are having any difficulty with the claim. We will help provide any support or documentation you may need.
We offer two styles of freight shipping. White glove freight is estimated to arrive at 2-6 weeks. Curbside freight has an estimated arrival time of 2-21 business days. Keep in mind that transit times are estimated, not guaranteed, plan accordingly. Please let us know if you have deadlines for delivery or black out dates (when you will not be home). We will work with our carriers to target delivery for a date that works for you.
