Stunning wingback lounge chair designed by K. Rasmussen for Peter Wessel. The teak has aged to a beautiful redish-amber that perfectly compliments the newer (not new) black tweed fabric. The lounge chair easily adjusts into a reclined position that adds practicality and charm. There’s something wonderfully sinister looking about this wingback style when fused with Danish Modern. Equally elegant and masculine.
About the restoration: The key to any restoration is making improvements without appearing “re-finished”. We were successful here in that endeavor. Seat and back were unbolted to allow our team easy access to tighten and detail the frame. Only very minor imperfections remain on the front chair legs (see pics). The arms were delicately refinished to remove minor imperfections and new wood buttons were color matched to the original. Although not new, the chair was upholstered recently and the fabric looks great. The 60 year old frame is rock solid but does make some age appropriate creaking when nestling in.
