Description
Vintage 1950s table lamp by Gerald Thurston for Lightolier. The lamp is comprised of a brass rod embellished with an elegantly tapered wood mid-section. The wood is so beautifully turned that it’s a challenge to decipher just what species it is. The grain has been so expertly finessed that it’s difficult to tell whether it’s walnut or teak wood. One thing is for certain, it’s gorgeous, original and even better with the patina of time. It’s pretty miraculous that the lamp comes complete with its original shade and diffuser. Gerald Thurston gave careful consideration to his lamps. It wasn’t enough to create a beautiful body, he specifically designed shades and diffusers to control the light output. The result is a museum-worthy table lamp with a glow just as divine as the lamp itself. We are delighted to present this complete specimen in such great shape.
