Mid century modern oil painting by prolific artist, Elmo Gideon. This nautical scene depicts a group of boats out to sea. Gideon’s heavy, painterly strokes are hallmarks of 1950s and 1960s modern oil paintings. A figure can be seen in one of the boats. The painting is housed in a cream colored wood frame with a textured fabric matte. The artist’s signature is present.
