Description
Super unique mid century modern long bookcase from Galloway’s of Tampa. One of the most avant garde furniture stores of the mid 20th century. Galloway’s of Tampa produced stylish, quality furniture to rival that of any East or West coast counterpart. The unit is four pieces. Two nearly eight foot long planks rest on two individual wrought iron bases. The long shelves are a faux walnut Formica with white Formica on the edges. The duo-tone shelves contrast handsomely against the freshly repainted black iron bases. Reminiscent of work by Paul McCobb or Arthur Umanoff whom made wrought iron framed furniture a darling of the period. This Galloway’s shelf is a rare find in terms of form and dimensions. The long low profile is ideal for accenting walls or acting as a room divider in open floor plans.
