Vintage Sea Urchin Table Lamp. A fantasy underwater seascape of organic floral sculpture made of patinated metal with copper, steel, gold and brass tones. Five stems rise from the pot and are each topped with a single light bulb. Authentic sea urchin shells act as lamp shades and are hugged secure by ribbons of metal. The lights give off a warm glow when diffused by these fascinating giant sand dollar-esque shades. Bronze toned metal leaves fan out to from the stem bases which are permanently welded to the pot. The pot is filled with decorative stones that are also secured in a permanent position.
The sea urchin table lamp is attributed to Curtis Jere (Curtis Freiler and Jerry Fels) in New York, known for sculptural metal artwork sometimes incorporating items of natural origin.
