Astoundingly large round Scandinavian Rya rug. The rug is slightly oblong and measures 100″ x 96″ in diameter, that’s over 8 feet! It is quite rare to find a round Rya rug, let alone one this massive. This vintage 1970s rug is in primo original condition. There are no stains or bald threads. The thick pile is lush and the colors are vibrant. The sunflower design could easily be mistaken for the sun itself. Bright orange and red rays emanate from the brown, red, burgundy and blue core. This rug is truly a work of art… except it lies on the floor instead of being hung on the wall. In fact, Rya’s were traditionally displayed as wall hangings in Scandinavian homes. They were even used as bedding. It’s easy to see why Nordic folks would cozy up to the luxurious, soft, shaggy rugs during their famously cold winters.
