Description
Vintage 1950s David Stone Martin print “Jazz Band.” Stone Martin was a prolific illustrator during the mid 20th Century. With his pen, Martin composed album covers for legendary musicians Billie Holiday, Lester Young, and Stan Getz among others. At the height of his career (1940s-1960s) Stone Martin created 100’s of album covers for Mercury, Dial, Clef and Verve records. Time magazine was another of his illustrious clients. His innovative, stylish art became a hallmark defining this period of jazz just as much as the sound. “Jazz Band” is a print with printed signature, beautifully housed in a deeply recessed white wood frame, black matte and protected by acrylic.
