Mid century modern walnut and mahogany executive desk. American made by Alma, from their “Castilian” collection. This is the Cadillac of desks — a piece that would make even Don Draper envious! Atypically large with a beautiful mahogany top resting on a walnut chassis. Smart styling with Scandinavian influence seen in the sleek, tapered exoskeletal legs. Massive amounts of storage with a whopping total of seven drawers! Highlights include a standard size file drawer at left. The finished back side is just as beautiful as the front. There are an extra set of legs at center to support the heavy solid wood desk. The back side has a scalloped knee hole so the piece can double as a partner’s desk. The black vinyl inlay on top is fixed in position — an original feature. This desk is truly a masterpiece of mid 20th Century American design.
The desk comes with keys. All mechanical parts appear to be present but the locking mechanism does not currently work. Walnut exterior is in very good original condition with only minor imperfections (see pics). Drawers open smoothly and glide on metal rails. Desk mat is in excellent original condition and has no rips or punctures. Professionally detailed top to bottom, inside and out.
