Even a thick mattress won’t hide the brutalist beauty and textural spectacle of this domineering 52″ high king headboard. The maker uses several species of wood and smoked glass to create a truly unique look. The magpie assortment of veneers include burl fruitwood, birdseye maple, mahogany and walnut. All of the chunky blocks are outlined in a frame of solid oak. We’ve had a few interesting brutalist headboards over the years, but nothing like this. The assemblage, proportions and overall style is a step up from the typical Lane Pueblo or Staccato lines for example. This is the first time coming across this headboard in 12 years, and the fact that it’s a king, makes it all the more rare.
