Description
Upon first glance, we were sure this retro 1960s sideboard was a Danish made. Then a look inside the top drawer gave us a shock. This teak credenza was made by Stanley for their “Danish Forum” collection. An American manufacturer! The teak wood exterior has a nice honey color and beautiful striated grain. Thin Arne Vodder style drawers help to masquerade it?s origin. Truly the best of both worlds. Ultra durable American construction with styling from Scandinavia. Thick hardwood lies underneath the teak veneer? not particle board as found in Danish pieces of the same vintage. Dovetail joinery is deep and airtight after all these decades. Drawers glide easily and reliably on metal rails. You just don?t get this hearty construction with Danish pieces which were designed to be modular and easy to disassemble. American pieces were built to last and it shows. Features include two large cabinet spaces on the left and right sides. Three deep and wide drawers are stacked down the center. Plenty of storage! Ideal for use an entertainment center. We have a matching china cabinet, 6 dining chairs and dining table (sold separately).
